A Living Will is a document by which you specifically opt to not receive artificial life support if two physicians or one physician and one advanced registered nurse practitioner, have determined that you will not recover from whatever injury or illness you are suffering from.  You can also expressly opt in or out of receiving artificial food and water to prolong your life.  Your health care provider will look to your Living Will only if you are unable to express your wishes directly and your health care agent is unavailable to act on your behalf.
