Missouri has launched a new rehabilitation program, with the goal of rehabilitating drunk drivers rather than placing them in jail.
A program in South St. Louis County works to help repeat drunken drivers without locking them up. The federally funded program is still in its infancy, but already, it has one success story. It”s an alternative form of justice known as DWI Court and it actually SAVES taxpayer”s money.
It will be interesting to see how this program progresses, or declines, as cities are faced with budget cutbacks.
